Arteries and veins are the two primary types of blood vessels in the circulatory system of the body. Arteries Arteries are blood vessels that transport oxygenated blood from the heart to various parts of the body. They are thick, elastic and are divided into a small network of blood vessels called capillaries. The only exception to this is the pulmonary arteries, which carries deoxygenated blood to the lungs. Veins Veins are blood vessels that carry de-oxygenated blood towards the heart from various parts of the body. They are thin, elastic and are present closer to the surface of the skin. However, pulmonary and umbilical veins are the only veins that carry oxygenated blood in the entire body. Lymph The human circulatory system consists of another body fluid called lymph. It is also known as tissue fluid. Human Circulatory System The human circulatory system is a complex network consisting of arteries, veins, capillaries, and the heart. Its primary role is to provide essential nutrients, minerals and other important components such as hormones to various parts of the body. Circulatory System Components The circulatory system comprises of 4 crucial components that have specific roles and functions. The components include: Heart Blood Blood Vessels Lymph For more information please, Call us at 8287971571. You can also WhatsApp us on +91 90540 43867. Your heart gets a lot of attention from poets, songwriters, and storytellers, but today Hank's gonna tell you how it really works. The heart's ventricles, atria, and valves create a pump that maintains both high and low pressure to circulate blood from the heart to the body through your arteries, and bring it back to the heart through your veins. You'll also learn what your blood pressure measurements mean when we talk about systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Pssst... we made flashcards to help you review the content in this episode! These drawings should help make sense of the branches of the abdominal aorta and inferior vena cava. These vessels supply blood to/from the organs of the abdominal cavity and their branches can be confusing if not seen in the proper context. This video is intended to help medical and other anatomy students keep track of how blood flows to the gastrointestinal organs and where important clinical landmarks are found. *For some reason the video appears very blurry when I view it on an iPad. The atrium collects blood that has returned from the body, while the ventricle pumps the blood to the gills where gas exchange occurs and the blood is re-oxygenated; this is called gill circulation. The blood then continues through the rest of the body before arriving back at the atrium; this is called systemic circulation. This unidirectional flow of blood produces a gradient of oxygenated to deoxygenated blood around the fish's systemic circuit. The result is a limit in the amount of oxygen that can reach some of the organs and tissues of the body, reducing the overall metabolic capacity of fish.

Capillary blood collection with the SARSTEDT Microvette® APT is flexible and easy to perform. The Microvette® APT 500 has a variable filling volume of 250 to 500 µl. It is easy to seal thanks to its user-friendly sealing cap. This enables the sample to be quickly prepared and made leakproof, ready for transport and automated processing. Capillary blood collection is an important part of the treatment of patients with difficult vein conditions such as small children or older people. Meaningful haematological diagnostics are made possible with a small volume of blood.
